Muay Thai, taught from your very first punch.

Never thrown one? Good — that's the student our Fundamentals classes are built for. Learning Muay Thai is one of the most satisfying hours a body can spend: pads, technique, footwork, and a Coach walking you through every piece, step-by-step.

Ordinary adults practicing punches step by step in a bright Muay Thai Fundamentals class at Egley Train Boise

The room you're walking into

Walk into a Fundamentals class and you'll see ordinary adults learning, missing, correcting, and trying again — coached step-by-step by Coach Doug and Coach Kenny, in the same patient, no-ego room our whole Academy runs on. Pads and technique, not punishment. If you're picturing a fight gym full of tough guys, that's the one thing we ask you to leave at the door.

Contact never sneaks up on you here: your first lesson has no sparring at all, and as students progress, contact is introduced gradually — always Coach-paced, always your call.

"Coach Doug Collins is my Muay Thai / Kickboxing coach and sheesh, that class is a good one. Endorphins flowing immediately. You feel so POWERFUL! Plus it's super fun and engaging. Come check it out, you won't be sorry."

Why people stay

There is nothing quite like the sound of your own kick landing clean on a pad for the first time. Muay Thai is rhythm, timing, and problem-solving at full attention — an hour where your phone is in a cubby and your head has exactly one job. You get fitter while you're busy becoming absorbed in a skill.

One student's story, from our Google reviews:

"This is THE place to train. I joined the Muay Thai classes and was very nervous to do so. I was on a weight loss journey and hadn't been remotely fit in a while. However coach Doug and Kenny and my classmates were super supportive and I learned so much. I lost 25 lbs in 2 months and felt better than ever and even made it to the advanced class after 5 months. If you stick with it, it truly is one of the best things you'll ever do for yourself."

Your first lesson — and minute 46

Your first lesson is private, on purpose: forty-five minutes, one Coach, real technique from your first punch — no sparring, no crowd, nothing you didn't agree to. Wear comfortable workout clothes — loaner gloves and wraps are provided for your Free Private Lesson, so there's nothing to buy before you know this is home. Walk in the front door and tell whoever greets you it's your first lesson — they'll be expecting you.

Minute 46, plainly: your Coach tells you honestly where you'd fit, shows you what ongoing training looks like if you want to see it, and answers whatever you ask. You can say no right there in the room and leave with a handshake.
